The AMC240 is a Dual port 40/10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) AdvancedMC (AMC) module. The AMC240 module supports 10GBase-KR and 40GBase-KR on Ports 4-7 and 8-11. The module applies KR/KR4 FEC on a per Port basis.

In the front the module has dual QSFP+ ports to allow dual 40GbE or Octal 10GbE via Fibre or Copper. The module has integrated CDR (Clock and Data Recovery) and EDC (Electronic Dispersion Compensations) on both transmit and receive paths. The EDC allows the unit to autonomously adapt and recover signals that have traversed through copper/optics media.
