The AMC229 is a single module, full size AdvancedMCTM (AMC) based on the AMC.2 specification. The AMC229 provide 8 front panel 10GbE ethernet ports via SFP+. It routes two 1GbE (these could run as 10GBase-KR, 802.3ap) to ports 0 and 1. In addition it has three XAUI to ports 4-7, 8-11 and 17-20. Any of the XAUI ports could also run as 10GBase-KR. The SFP+ allows a mix of 10GbE and 1GbE transceiver. The switch is managed via telnet and supports a rich set of features such as VLAN, RSTP, QoS, Mirroring, etc. The RS-232 in the front panel can also be used to manage the switch.
