As part of our commitment to providing robust and reliable solutions, VadaTech will sometimes subject product to accelerated life tests. This can be done for Environmental Stress Screening (generally known as ESS) or to support product qualification. ESS is used to subject product to adverse conditions, such shock, vibration, or temperature, to take out ‘infant mortality’ failures in the bathtub reliability curve. Qualification testing is used to simulate whole-life stresses on the product to show its ability to withstand a harsh environment.
As part of such testing, VadaTech engineers use a vibration table at our manufacturing facility to subject hardware to extreme shaking and energy pulses. During this process, the unit experiences continuous shaking, sinusoidal waves, and shock pulses while attached to an industrial-sized vibration table. The result? A week of very noisy tests meant to push the limits of the unit’s capabilities and force any weaknesses to the surface. Since the stress the units undergo on the vibration table is exceptional, if a unit passes the stress test we can safely assume that it can withstand real-world conditions that are unlikely to be as traumatic. It can be a time-consuming process, but we work closely with our customers to define specifications for their equipment and to meet those requirements through rigorous and refined methodology. Through tests and modifications like these, our teams are able to deliver the most rugged and versatile designs possible, which is crucial for mil/aero applications where solutions are routinely expected to function under duress.
We’re committed to thoroughly testing our products and guarantee that they can stand up to the most demanding applications. To learn more about our capabilities, be sure to contact us for more information.
