“Could we interest you in some MicroTCA?” Making a VPX Solution for an HSCSI System.

Ours is a competitive business, and at VadaTech we like to think that our core values of being technology leaders, committing to our customers, delivering complexity, and manufacturing in-house set us apart from other companies. Our customers seem to agree: we received a general inquiry about our FMC and FPGA solutions from one of the largest aerospace companies in the world, looking for hardware to implement in a HSCSI system with an end system protocol proprietary to space use.

The company’s original requirement was board-centric and needed a 3U VPX board for a system they had previously purchased from a major competitor. We discussed their platform requirements with them, showed them a compatible solution in MicroTCA, and out of that original request VadaTech won the contract to supply three integrated systems for FPGA gateware development.

But our collaboration hasn’t ended with just this project: during development, members of their team came on site twice to VadaTech headquarters in Henderson, Nevada, becoming familiar with our capabilities and recognising the opportunities for new projects in the future.
